Welcome to my little personal corner of the web. My name is Denise Grier. I’m a full-time blogger/writer and a native Texan. I’m also proud to say that I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2005.
I have been writing for over 35 years, but up until three years ago it was mostly poetry and ad copy. Then, after I finished raising my kids–after 10 years of owning and running my own advertising business–I packed it all in and dedicated myself to the study of the craft of writing, determined to make it my life’s career. Then life happened and I became a blogger. What better way to make a living, I thought?
I have written a novel called THE SUN SHINES ON MADDY WEAVER. I have had numerous pieces of short fiction, poetry, articles and essays published. I have studied the publishing industry, online business, marketing and promotion and continue to educate myself on the ins and out of being a successful blogger. I am now seeking a publisher for Maddy as I blog full time and and dabble in creative writing.
The journey has been an interesting one, I’ll sure say that, and it becomes more so everyday. And though I have no idea where my journey might lead next I do know one thing for sure. I will be writing and blogging until they pry my bony fingers from the keyboard. :)
